Propane Service Technician Helper

Flexible hours and shifts
Competitive hourly wage based on experience

This position will be responsible for assisting in the delivery, setting, and installation of propane tanks and outside gas lines. Working alongside our field supervisor, this is a great entry level position to learn a trade and be a part of a rapidly growing company. This will be a part-time position with the potential for full time in the future.  No experience necessary, we will provide training to the right candidate. We are willing to be flexible to candidates with other work/life/school obligations. 

Propane Tank Installation

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assists in the installation and removal of propane tanks both aboveground and buried.
  • Actively learns and participates in gas line installations, leak checks, and repairs.
  • Diagnose and resolve potential safety issues – leaks and/or pressure issues.
  • Assisting with trenching propane lines and burying large propane tanks.
  • Miscellaneous work associated with Propane and Heating Oil operations.
  • Provide prompt and courteous service to customers on a daily basis while ensuring safety and environmental compliance.

Requirements

  • Must be physically and mentally able to safely perform the essential job functions without obvious risk of injury to the employee or co-workers
  • Possess a valid drivers license
  • Skilled working with tools, ready to learn, have attention to detail, and very safety-minded.
  • Must have the ability lift 50lbs on a daily basis
  • Must be reliable, diligent, dependable
  • Be able to pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol test

Heating Oil/Propane Driver- Minimum Class B CDL w/Hazmat & Tanker.

Fuel Delivery positions available at Gerner Energy, a rapidly growing Heating Oil & Propane Company! Class B CDL w/Hazmat & Tanker endorsements, is required.

We offer a competitive wage. Fuel delivery experience is helpful but not required. Will train the right candidate. Truck yard is located in Cockeyesville, MD.

Propane Delivery in Baltimore County, MD

Primary Responsibilities

  • Loading and delivery of home heating oil and/or propane in the Greater Baltimore area.
  • Operate delivery trucks in a safe manner in accordance with all DOT and OSHA requirements as well as local, state and federal laws
  • Properly use onboard computers, training will be provided.
  • Provide prompt and courteous service to customers on a daily basis while ensuring safety and environmental compliance.

Requirements

  • Applicants must meet the Department of Transportation (DOT) and Company mental and physical requirements.
  • Must be physically and mentally able to safely perform the essential job functions without obvious risk of injury to the employee or co-workers
  • Must have the ability to climb into and out of cab of truck, pull and retrieve delivery hose and lift 50lbs on a daily basis
  • Must be reliable, diligent, dependable
  • Possible nights, weekend work, and potential overtime

HVAC Technician

Full-Time, Monday to Friday

We are locally owned and operated and have been in business for 10 years.

Responsibilities for This Position

As an HVAC Service Technician, you will make service calls to customer homes and provide expert troubleshooting, repair and installation service to a variety of residential equipment, with a large percentage of the equipment being oil fired. You will be one of the main points of contact between the company and our customers so it is very important you fulfill our expectations for extraordinary customer service along with serving as an advocate for the company and our brand. You will be working in the following areas: Carroll County, Baltimore County, Baltimore City, and Harford County. 

HVAC Technician

Specific duties include:

  • Assessing customers’ equipment and service needs
  • Troubleshooting and repairing residential HVAC equipment
  • Installing HVAC equipment as needed. 
  • Identifying revenue-generating opportunities, making recommendations to customers, and closing any sales that can be immediately performed
  • Being reliable, punctual, honest and communicating effectively with management. 
  • Educate customers on new technology and enhancements to improve their safety and comfort.
  • Maintaining a clean and neat service vehicle and properly accounting for assigned tools and parts inventory
  • Experience with and/or willing to work with technology systems to process work and document information.

Specific qualifications include:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of HVAC experience. 
  • Minimum 1-2 years of working on oil fired equipment. 
  • State issued Journeyman/Journeywoman or Masters License is a HUGE plus!
  • Valid driver’s license and record in good standing
  • Willingness to expand your technical and repair knowledge; obtain new licenses and commitment to professional growth
  • Must be able to work independently while safely maintaining a high level of performance.

Office Support Coordinator

Full-Time, Monday to Friday

We are looking for an Office Support Coordinator that will be based in our Monkton, MD office. This position will gain experience in all facets of our business and learn every day from the business owners and office manager. This position will report to the office manager.

Hours & Work Schedule

  • Monday-Friday- hours will vary slightly based on time of year. Within the hours of 7:30am-5pm.
  • Full time with the Opportunity for adjusted “Summer Hours.” This is our slower part of the year. 
  • October-March is our peak season, hour requirements will increase including weekends. 

Below are the initial tasks this position will be trained to do on a day to day basis.

  • Effectively manage incoming calls and make outbound calls as needed.
  • Generate and follow up on sales leads
  • Identify and assess customer needs to achieve customer satisfaction
  • Provide accurate, valid and complete information by following processes and being consistent.
  • Schedule & communicate with technicians and drivers to meet customer requirements
  • Handle customer inquiries and challenges, provide appropriate solutions and alternatives and follow-up to ensure resolution
  • Follow-up with customers on payments
  • Keep records of customer interactions
